Airbrushed: A view from Rowe Farms at 7:27am 3 Feb 2016

2016-02-03 - Rowe Farms, 909 Keltner Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Fred Rowe.
Fred Rowe used Rowe Farms' most important farm implement, his Samsung Galaxy smartphone - he controls every function of the farm by cellphone, including, we suspect, a button which commands an individual cow to give more milk - to capture this gorgeous scene this morning, which the artist/farmer has titled, "Airbrushed." He didn't reveal a vector or azimuth, and the ground view is a little dark, but one can make out cliff side homes and what looks like a cell tower, for clues. - EW

Green River Knob, closer view

2016-02-03 - From KY 910 - Photo by Ed Waggener, CM photo.
The Green River Knob, closer up, view taken from KY 910 a short distance east of its intersection with KY 3525 (Old Gosser Ridge Road). A couple of questions followed second and third looks. 1) What tower is in the left of the photo, seen very faintly? and two, could anyone share a wintertime Mt. Fuji like snow capped photo of the knob? More on this photo from: Lee Murphy. Robert Cumming.

Daffodils make appearance Groundhog Day 2016

2016-02-03 - Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo.
A welcome touch of spring appeared with these opening daffodils on Groundhog Day, Tuesday, February 2, 2016. A bit early but they should do well with this week's weather, almost ideal for the flowers.
