Columbia city pool being filled in 2016-04-15 - Fairgrounds Street, Columbia KY - Photo By Linda Waggener. The city pool, closed to the public for several years now, is being filled in this week. The Columbia City Gas Department is doing the work with stone provided free by Burton Stone and Ready Mix according to Mayor Curtis Hardwick. In the photo Ronald Cook is driving the mini track hoe at the ten-foot depth and Steven Baker is driving the backhoe after dump truck drivers Tim Smith and Shane Gaskins unload the fill dirt.
