In his introduction David said, "Blake has made his family very proud. He graduated from ACHS and then Western Kentucky University then decided he was going to stay with the family business. He earned his mortuary science degree from Vincennes University online while still working full-time. He has earned his funeral director and embalmers license from the state of Kentucky." Sammy Baker, the 2016 Columbia-Adair County Agriculturist of the Year, left was introduced by Kirby Hancock, second from left. In his introduction, Kirby Hancock said Sammy Baker has made more of an impact on agriculture in Adair County than anyone he knows. "Sammy has worked with countless young people getting started in agriculture business. From 1968 to 1996 he was the AG teacher in the Adair County public school system and had one, maybe two teams that won the Hord's Dairyman contest among many other student team wins. He is Magistrate in his District and he and his wife Nadine have two sons, both successful dairy farmers, and five grandchildren."
