ACHS Freshman Boys Basketball are 20th District Champs

Adair County Freshman Boys Basketball 20th District Champs!! Adair County defeated Taylor County in the first round by a 3 point buzzer beater scored by Anthony Payne, ending the game 33-30. They defeated Campbellsville in the championship game 57-31 becoming the 2015-2016 20th District Champs! The team consists of Byron Corbin, Blane Frazier, Layndon Carter, Jordan Simpson, Anthony Payne, Devin Richardson and Baylor Giles, and they are coached by Chad Bell.

Amy Price, Clinical Coordinator and Linda Dick, Victim Advocate from Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center met with Attorney General Andy Beshear after he and First Lady Glenna Bevin announced the launch of statewide training initiatives aimed at reducing child sexual abuse in Kentucky. Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center is excited about the statewide push towards educating families and their community partners about the epidemic of child sexual abuse. Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center provides services to children and families in Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Taylor, Russell, and Wayne counties.

Jack Meegan speaks to Columbia Rotary Club

Columbia Rotary hosted about 30 Lindsey Wilson international students and their host families at their Monday evening meeting. Jack Meegan, a student from Northern Ireland, who is at Lindsey for a one-year study abroad program, brought Rotarians and their guest up to speed on life in Northern Ireland. Meegan will return to his university in Northern Ireland in May to continue his work on a law degree. The program was arranged by Sabine Eastham, director of Lindsey's international student's program. Rotary meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Lindsey Wilson's Cranmer Dining Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, at 6pmCT, for it's dinner programs. The meetings are open and guests are welcome. - George Kolbenschlag
