Where in the World Is It: Elbow Tree beside the road???

It's growing beside a well-travelled road within one of these counties: Russell, Metcalfe, Green, Cumberland, Casey, Adair or Taylor Counties. It is so unusual that anyone who shares just a fraction of Billy Joe Fudge's eye for the observance and nuance, would readily recognize it and might have a name for it, such as "Elbow" tree, or the "Sitting Tree," though the latter would have been from years ago, as evidence by the moss which wouldn't be there if it where safe for a row of up to a half-dozen or more little ones were sitting on the horizontal elbow. CHS players Vaught & Hash join 500 Rebound Club

Campbellsville High School senior basketball players Austin Hash, with 606 career rebounds, right photo with CHS Athletic Director Tim Davis, and A.J. Vaught, 549 rebounds, have joined the school's 500 Rebound Club. Hash and Vaught were honored on Friday, February 19, 2016, before they played in their last regular season game as Eagles.

Adair County Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens and Dentist-Civic Leader-Great Thinker Dr. Roger Smith, posed for this version of United We Stand at the Wednesday, February 17, 2016 standing room only Town Hall Meeting. Judge Stephens earlier had been effusive in praise of Senator Paul. Dr. Smith, later, was also complimentary of Senator Paul, and thought there ought to be more Town Hall style meetings, like this one, which drew elements from across the political spectrum. - EW

CES students draw self-portraits

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently drew their self-portraits. Students were asked to draw a picture of themselves, along with some of their hobbies and other activities they like. Some students drew books they like and others drew sports they play.

Top row: CES third-grader Kaleb Miller holding his finished self-portrait, third-grader Noah Patterson, third-grader Serenity Mings, and third-grader Tyler Haulk. Bottom row: third-grader Anna Floyd holding her finished self-portrait, third-grader Kaitlyn Keith, and third-grader Miley Hash. Adrienne Hash is the CES art teacher.
