Remember those skies 24 Feb 2016 - Trabue Russell House
2016-02-24 - Trabue-Russell House, 201 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo. Columbia landmark. Adair County's time-transport. The magic of the Trabue-Russell House is felt immediately on entering the historic grounds. No other place can make such a welcome mood change so quickly. It is one of those too few structures which transport one back to a calmer state. The house remains a Columbia Treasure, thanks to an endowment from Jim Blair. Today, above, in those unforgettable skies we shared. - EW

The Changing Face of Jamestown Hill: UCB campus & Big Al's Place
2016-02-24 - Intersection of Jamestown & Hayes Streets - Photo by Ed Waggener, CM photo. Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker, still owns property on the block surrounded by Jamestown Street, Hayes Street, and Heskamp Street, and was proud of the park-like surroundings the United Citizens Bank campus changes have created which benefits him. The far left brick building is the original United Citizens Bank Building. The nearer one, now incorporated into the complex, is the home built by David & Effie Heskamp which remained under Heskamp family ownership until the bank purchased it. Hayes Street elbows around the cleared area including the Big Al place to rejoin Heskamp Street. - EW.
