Scenic Russell Co., KY: Beautiful Moss Lawn, Esto

2016-02-29 - Oak Road, Esto, Russell County, KY. - Photo by Linda Waggener.
There's a beautiful lawn covered in moss along Oaks Road, in Russell County, KY. It almost certainly had a helping hand to reach this stage. Oaks Road is a gorgeous drive between KY 92 and Blair Road. Greasy Creek runs parallel much of the way, and it, has beautiful mossy banks, riffles, and rocky cliffsides, rife with wildflowers some coming on. (Anyone know how a moss lawn like this one can be developed? It's delightful. - EW

Sign of the times, Feathersburg, KY

2016-02-29 - Eastridge Cemetary Rd, Feathersburg, the Capitol of Speck Ridge Road & the Tri-Counties, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo.
The house is in Adair County. The sign may be in Taylor - not sure on this end of the road, so it's not clear from a casual look which jurisdiction posted the sign. But it's not the only one to be found with "Cemetery" spelled "Cemetary," and many officially so. Local color, one would guess. - CM
