There are more herons than usual in Shelbyville this time of year, probably migrating north as the weather warms up, and they're definitely a little more tolerant of the company of other birds than the year-rounders tend to be.

Leaders for February announced

Campbellsville Elementary School has named its Leaders of the Month for February. They are kindergarteners Sarah Parrott, London Whitlow, Emily Vorpahl, Bryant Mayo and Essence Hunter; first-graders Jace Hagy, Seamus Huber, Luke Adkins and Evan Lockridge; second-graders Devin Underwood, Ethan Irwin, Keaton Hord, Rihanna Anderson and Madisyn Bradfield; and third-graders Averi Perkins, Aaliyah Luna, Kaylyn Lawson and Kyra Parker. The students will be honored with a luncheon on Thursday, March 17. From left, front, are Sarah Parrott, London Whitlow, Emily Vorpahl and Essence Hunter.
