Harvest time in Coburg II - Pretty bales all in arow 2016-06-24 - Coburg, KY - Photo by Junior Stotts. Despite all the talk of commercial development in Coburg, KY, agriculture remains dominant in the little community. Yesterday was a major harvest time at the Stotts Farms - the crop was straw, a useful by-product of cereal grain crops - including livestock bedding and as a mulch in landscaping and reseeding operations. The busy Adair County Company uses some of the straw reseeding the paths of newly installed water lines. Over 2000 square bales were put in the barns yesterday. Over 100 big round rolls were baled. Workers load staw bales of straw on to a waiting flatbed semi on Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2016 - Harvest Day in Coburg. It took 17 people to get the straw from field to the big red barn on Griffin Springs Road, near Columbia Utility District's Adair County Water Treatment Plant, and to barn on the Mitchell Burton place. There were 12 from Stotts Construction and five from the John Arnold Farms. The work was done during a heat wave in Coburg, with only a few clouds hinting at the lightning and thunder storms which would come just a few hours later. Paired Photo.
