The Fresh Air Produce sign has one rule most would like to see universal "Modest Dress Required" at all retail establishments. It caught my eye. It wasn't our destination, and we didn't expect to find the "Open" sign still up late Saturday afternoon, but were presently surprised to find the family operated business open and welcoming when we drove up - and very friendly even after our purchase totted up to less thank $10. The mission was to do a drive by - but not a surprise drop-in, at the Whitehurst Estate, and to see if "Joe Pye Weed (is) peaking in Pellyton" (there's a country music song in that, we're sure), but it wasn't. Getting back down off Sanders Ridge is a Smoky Mountains Thrill, for those when enjoy spectacular vistas, not so much for the pilot of our little wind-up Mazda, who almost froze up with an acrophobic attack, right above the Boss Blair chalet. A photo from a moment in the painting of the Lindsey Wilson Water Tower, which we're using to supplement the ongoing serial by tower neighbor George Kolbenschlag, was taken Saturday afternoon June 25, 2016, while, apparently, work was still going on. The photographer said that before dusk, the shroud had been lifted. In any case the backlit art at the top ofthe shroud is great industrial art, and raises the question: Has any location, anywhere, kept one of these shrouds in place for special occasions? Has anyone already invented a way to project movable cinematic effects from inside a shroud? For instance, is there technology already in place which would allow a virtual fireworks show on the fourth of July or on the many occasions when fireworks explode when the Nation's Number One Blue Raider Soccer Teams score? What made it home from a $2.50 bag of Sanders Ridge Cherries is far less than started the trip home, and we're not sure if there is enough left to try to bake a pie. The Fresh Air Market, a Mennonite family operation, at E Barnett Road and KY 2970 (Sanders Ridge Road) , had these, and they were open Saturday evening after 6pmCT, Saturday, when these were purchased. Looks like we have 40 big, sweet, cherries to start the day. Is that enough to bake a cherry pie? - EW/LW. Lamb Tripletts eligible for National Beta - but attending GSA 2016-06-26 - Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main (campus), Campbellsville, KY - Photo Calen McKinney, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS) photo. LAMB TRIPLETS CHS students will compete next week at the national Beta convention in New Orleans, LA. In January, the Beta Club brought home several awards from the state convention. As such, the award winners advanced to national competition. Three CHS students were named state champions in the special talent category. CHS juniors, and triplets, from left, Murphy Lamb, Blair Lamb and Laura Lamb won for their performance of "Lost in the Brass" from the musical "Band Geeks." CHS students will compete next week at the national Beta convention in New Orleans, LA. In January, the Beta Club brought home several awards from the state convention. As such, the award winners advanced to national competition. From left, sophomore Ryan Wiedewitsch won third place in English; junior Yena Shin won third place in the on-site drawing competition; senior Belen Garcia won third place in Spanish; and sophomore Bryce Richardson won second place in the poetry contest. Wiedewitsch, Garcia and Richardson will compete at nationals.
