The American woodcock season in Kentucky has changed for 2016. Previously, the season opened November 1 and closed December 15. It will be a split season in 2016, with the American woodcock season closing for the opening weekend of modern gun deer season. The first segment opens October 22 and closes November 11, 2016. David Jones, Maintenance Director for the Adair County School District, use his glasses as a pointer to show one of the aesthetic improvements being made on the Adair County School District Campus. The District is removing a crumbling paved area formerly needed for a family resource center housed in the historic boyhood home of Tommy Grider. Jones noted that maintenance of the paved area would have been expensive, and grass will now replace it. The impovement is one of many he described at the Thursday, July 21, 2016 regular meeting of the Adair County School Board. Jones said that crews will be out early at daybreak this morning sprucing up the campus, a necessity for the start of school for students on August 11, 2016, and also as a show of respect for the Reece family. The funeral service for Anthony & Tammy Reece will be held on the campus at Adair County Middle School, 322 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY, at 10amCT, Saturday, July 23, 2016.
