Phillip Reeves (Phil) Aaron, M.D. 70, Adair Co., KY (1945-2016) Dr. Phil Aaron brought honor and recognition to his hometown often. Above, on October 24, 2009, Dr. Phil Aaron accepted the Medical Service Award from Larry Forgy, President, Health Kentucky, Inc. at a ceremony on that date. At the time, he was Medical Director of Dr. Phil Aaron Medical Center, 805 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY, when he was honored by Health Kentucky, at the group's "Twist and Bid" Gala at Seelbach Hotel in Louisville. The Medical Service Award is given annually to individuals who make a difference in the lives of Kentuckians through personal service with respect to health care. In accepting the award, Dr. Aaron told the audience, "To paraphrase the famous German Physician Rudolph Virchow, 'we doctors are also citizens; we have the opportunity to observe and perhaps a responsibility to mitigate the effects of poverty; we should be natural advocates of the poor - we should be there for indigent patients.'"
