The Katie Murrell Library at Lindsey Wilson College is busy with activities and this bulletin board, designed by Stephanie Pollitt with involvement of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), showcases the United States Constitution. The DAR founded Constitution Week in 1955 in commemoration of "America's most important document". Their resolution was signed into law on August 2, 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. It is celebrated each fall from September 17-23. Shumate won the vehicle in a raffle held to benefit Trooper Island, a free summer camp for underprivileged boys and girls age 10-12 operated by the Kentucky State Police on Dale Hollow Lake in Clinton County.
