Elementary students raise money for Toys for Tots

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently raised nearly $200 to buy toys for children at Christmas. On Halloween, CES students could pay $1 to wear their costume to school. All money raised - $190 total - will be donated to the local Campbellsville Toys for Tots drive to purchase toys for children who might otherwise not have Christmas. One magistrate against any Sunday sales, one offers compromise

Third District Magistrate Sammy Baker, left, is adamantly opposed to any Alcoholic Beverages on Sunday. Second District Magistrate Daryl Flatt, who voiced opposition to Sunday package sales in the second district, voted for with CJE Mike Stephens, and Magistrates Greg Caldwell and Terry Hadley, for Sunday sales in restaurants. The tie vote Tuesday evening, November 1, 2016, meant there will be no immediate change in Sunday Sales in the County - legal only for businesses in the City of Columbia.

Community support is growing for Campus Kitchen project
