Epicurean Kentuckian: German Chocolate Cake (Ad) photo
2017-01-23 - OK Country Cooking, 2339 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Jessica (Little Bit) Murphy. OKCC photo (c). Scrumptious, wickedly indulgent, no restraints dessert. This layered German Chocolate Layer Cake is an occasionally available dessert at Betty's OK Country Cooking. With buttery, coconut & pecan icing as thick as the cake, it seems. A sweet ending after a bountiful buffet, at the OKCC.

Scenic Adair County, KY: Red Rail Bridge, McGaha, KY
2017-01-23 - Upper Bridge over Sulphur Creek, McGaha, Adair Co. District 1, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, Columbiamagazine.com(c) . The upper bridge at McGaha, with its bright coat of red paint, a signature feature of the administration of Adair County Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens, brightened the pretty winter scene above. The bridge was completed in 2011, during the administration of CJE Ann Melton. On Friday, January 20, 2017, there was very little traffic on bridge, giving time for conversations with the friendly natives of Adair County's County within a county - "Putman" County. It's a pretty good place to enjoy life, as Bobby Redmon was doing Friday afternoon, when he stopped and brought us up to date on his activities since retiring from Lynn's Service Center some 10 years ago. - EW
