Campbellsville High School girls' freshmen basketball team won the 20th District tournament championship on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Adair County High School. The team defeated Taylor County in the first round, by a score of 33-23. In the championship game, CHS defeated Marion County in a very close game by a score of 39-38. Anthony Epps is in his first year as CHS girls' basketball head coach. Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Natalia Warren, George Eon and Debbie Gowdy-Smith. In Adrienne Hash's art class, students were asked what they like to do in the snow. Students said they like to build snowmen, make snow cream, make snow angels and much more. Campbellsville Elementary School students gather to listen to third-grade teacher Marcia Sharp read to them. CES third-graders recently enjoyed some reading time with their teacher. Marcia Sharp read the book "Farewell to Shady Glad" by Bill Peet to her students. The book is about a raccoon and his friends who are forced out of their home when construction workers destroy it. In the end, the raccoons are able to find a new home, but not until they go on a terrifying train ride.
