These two trees - Love Oak species, we guess, bowing to more informed botanists - seemingly so intent on holding each other they are oblivious to the changes in their neighborhood, the old Adair County Fairgrounds. Memories, perhaps of looking down on two eighteen-year-olds taking a top-of-the-ferris-wheel-kiss, may have inspired the scene. Southbound travelers approaching Dunnville, KY, on U.S. 127 are treated to a theatre of light shows like few other places. Some are spectacularly beautiful, some, like the brief sunlighted utility cable and guardrails, are, just for a few moments, a time for mundane essentials to take center stage. In minutes, it's gone, but a new phase, just as compelling, soon takes it's place, so fast often, that yielding to an urge to try to capture a never to be repeated act because it will never be seen exactly the same again proves futile.
