Sloan Fork Road from its intersection with Dry Fork Road and Merritt Ridge Road at Jennies Chapel UMC, Windsor, Casey County, KY is getting a major upgrade. It's worth the downright frightening descent from there to this gentle valley where the road passes through some of the most pleasant bottom land anywhere. The road leads to the Turkey Fork Road turnoff to Mintonville, or continues to South Fork Road, the Amish/Mennonite shopping area familiar to most. Linda didn't actually pull the trigger on this photo, but gets credit for demanding it and for composition direction by the shooter, who didn't intend to post it. But as serendipity often rears its pretty head, the picture had some compelling imagery in the "A" on the backboard. Has to stand for the Astonishing, Amazing, Awesome, Adair County High School basketball team, which, after Saturday night's 50-42 victory over Barren County High School, is now 24-1. Even before that win sports bar talk in Adair County centers on just where this team ranks among the great Indian teams of all times. The best ever? Many think so. The team still has four regular season games, two at home and two away - but they are favored to win all of them.
