Lenny Stone, General Manager of the Columbia/Adair County Utilities District, points to one of the 15 major chicken producer facilities in Adair County, only two of which are served by natural gas. He told those at the utilities regular February 9, 2017 session that the facilities are eager to have natural gas (provided by Columbia Gas Department). Natural gas provides energy at approximately one-half the cost of propane.
