Run-off continues to create problems on Fairground Street

2017-05-28 - Fairground Street at Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, Columbiamagazine.com(c) .
Runoff from higher levels continues to be a problem at this point on Fairground Street, Columbia, KY, creating issues for homeowner Larry Hutchison, who, ironically is an expert in the field. This photo was taken at 7:44pmCT, probably after the stream had slowed down. City Council members are monitoring the situation, hoping to find relief for the so far too patient home owner. The situation is expected to be on the agenda of the next city council meeting or a topic in the Council or Mayor's comments.- EW

The City of Columbia regularly flies the American flag for patriotic holidays. To main the bright, perfect colors the flags are hung along the major streets a few days before a holiday, and are taken down soon after. This scene is from W Guardian Street, on the right is a post cap on the ornate wrought iron fence at the corner of W Guardian & Burkesville Street, looking toward the Columbia Masonic Lodge at the corner of Burkesville Street & Frazier Avenue.
