Mayor Curtis Hardwick announced to the Columbia City Council that he had been approached by a person inquiring about the possibility of buying six acres of property the city owns on the Adair County Memorial Veterans Bypass, above. The idea was briefly discussed, but came to a quick, end with a unanimous vote, on a motion by Council Member Ronald Rogers, with a second by Craig Dean, that the land is not for sale at this time. Even with temperatures in the 80's, Columbia/Adair County firefighter were at collection points until 3pmCT, Saturday, June 3, 2017, and their perseverance paid off: This year's collections totaled $30,497.99, up from $26,961.50 in 2016, an increase of $3,526.49! This year's Crusade Chair is Charlie Crawhorn. The collection was the second trip for the C/AC Fire Department in two days.
