Flowering Trees of KY: Showy Magnolia, Magnolia House
2017-06-16 - Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c). A very large, quite lovely Southern Magnolia, can be seen today, Friday, June 15, 2017, in front of its namesake Bed & Breakfast, Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast, at the corner of Merchant & Jones Street. The flowers, according to the entry in Wikipedia Magnolia_grandiflora indicates that the blossoms fragrance is that of lemon citronella. And yes, before you ask, CM's house sommelier wannabe did find magnolia wine for $32 a bottle, but it isn't a Kentucky wine, so you wouldn't want to have anything to do with it. - EW
