City making crossings safer in Downtown Campbellsville
2017-06-28 - Main Street Crossing from South Columbia Avenue, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c). Selby Asphalt & Maintenance, Russell Springs, KY, was updating the pedestrian crossing on West Main Street, from South-to-North Columbia Avenue on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. The red brick crossing is a slightly elevated simulated brick paving. For added safety - a must we think - are the wide white painted "Stop Bars." Notice too, that an even wider stop bar stops vehicular traffic east bound on West Main Street, a safer distance from the intersection. Streets and sidewalks are given high priority by Mayor Young and the Campbellsville City council, and the economic vitality of Main Street reflects the payoff. - EW

Horses: So knowing, questioning
2017-06-28 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c). New neighbors occupy the residence next door. They come to the fence, maybe knowing that apples and fresh corn might have been a treat just a few months back, when their neighbor - "The Lady" - would have spoken to them in Horse Whispers, and would have spent hours with them, just chatting across the fence, the way good neighbors do. They are part of the Urban Farm Scene in earshot of the chimes, in other seasons within sight of the historic Adair County Courthouse. Behind them is a major shortcut from Downtown to Uptown.- EW

Scenic Taylor County, KY: Tree & Barn of Charactor
2017-06-28 - East Lemmons Bend Road at Sublet Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c). "Oh, they tell me of a cloud flecked sky." The song has it wrong, even when sung by Willie Nelson. Paradise without blue skies flecked with clouds? Unthinkable. Sounds more like an arid desert than a reward for eternity. In reality, heaven probably has plenty of Lemmons Bend early days of Summer Days, like the one above, on East Lemmons Bend Road in Taylor County. - EW. Photo 27 Jun 2017, diminished a bit by the optics through Honda windshield.
