They have been building their nest in the same location in Breeding for many years and return each spring with the entire family. Not only can he make anyone smile, he can tell them a thing or two, because he's seen it all, as he nears the century mark - he'll be 97 on November 29, 2017. At Lois & Kenneth Janes' store, on July 8, 2017, he was an indisputable expert on the history of the Columbia Gas Transmission pipeline blow-off, which scared the beejeesus out of anyone who had never heard the blast, but not him. The Onionburger made it's Beta-test debut at Patty Edwards' store on Liberty Road yesterday, and it was a smash hit - but we haven't heard whether or not it will get a regular rotation on the menu. We can affirm that it was excellent, especially as fixed up, above. And we didn't have the frame of reference those who have travelled Route 66, where the original onion burger is said to have been invented.
