An 'Ole Timers' Walker-Wiffle Ball Tournament is being held at the Old Portland Baseball Field, beside Poor Man's Store, 1100 Portland Road, Columbia, KY this afternoon to help Aubrey Willis and her family with medical expenses. Aubrey was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February 2017 and is on a 2 year treatment plan. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will begin radiation in December. One hundred percent of all proceeds will go to the family for help with medical expenses. It may have been a different method of cooking, it may have been a different source and size, but the Fordhook Lima beans served this week at Betty's OK Country Cooking were the closest to the taste I remember of the ones J.D. Harper used to serve - remember when the Peggy Brockman would bring those Fresh Frozen Fordhook Limas as listed on the daily specials there? The lima's texture then and above was soft and, after butter was slathered over them, good enough for dessert.
