Columbia City Council 07 Aug 2017: Anne-Marie Austin 2017-08-08 - City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c). Anne-Marie Austin, who served as session recorder in the absence of City Clerk Rhonda Loy, offered clarifications on a proposal for new verbiage in the city's gas ordinance, and a consideration of a small increase in the gas rate. Both the verbiage change and the rate increase will result in added margins for the utility, which, Mayor Hardwick and City Gas Superintendendent Ron Cook said, is in dire need of equipment, especially since the City sold the water and sewer component to the Adair County Water District, now known as the Columbia/Adair Utility District, or CAUD. A first reading was given to the ordinance. At Council Member Ron Rogers request and Austin's response, the next meeting considering the request for the ordinance change will be presented two alternatives: One with the verbiage change only, the other with price changes, too.
