2017-09-14 - McCreary County Adult Education Center - Photo by Allison Horseman, Somerset Community College. "I thought I was too old to go back to school to get my GED. Those words, spoken by Natasha (Tasha) Perry, tell the story of her journey from high school drop-out, to adult education student, to where she is now -- a college student at Somerset Community College's (SCC) McCreary Center. - Allison Horseman

Big Al photographed this sign at the original McDonald's in Downey, CA, which the company uses to make its claim that a $1.00 hamburger is a better value now than it was in 1955. Most of the comparisons would fit in Columbia, but probably not the $10,950 to $500,000 house.

Big Al sends prices from early McDonalds in Downey, CA
2017-09-14 - Ray Kroc Hall, Downey, CA - Photo By Big Al Owens. Big Al photographed this photo of McDonald's 15c hamburger and 10c coffee days. Coffee at most McDonald's has is only six times as much as then, and some hamburgers, just under seven times as much. A subsequent picture tells the story in terms of time value of money, showing that inflation has followed a slower path at the restaurants.
