Dean of Students Robbie Harmon listening to comment

2017-09-22 - Adair County Board of Education Conference Room, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Dean of Students Robbie Harmon, right, and First Division School Board Member Terry Harvey, listen to comments from Mike Harris on the idea Dean Harmon floated on the possibility of Adair County instituting a paperless registration process. Harmon presented the proposal without advocating a change, acknowledging that there would be additional costs - $7,500 per year to the software/consultant service - and that the current system is working really well. The board will be saving $3,000 this year, even without the paperless registration by providing online, paperless student manuals by eliminating hard copies and their attendant copier and paper fees. Harvey, the board's vice chairman, agreed the board's decision on paperless registration, but said that he is hopeful that Adair County Schools will take advantage of the State Board of Education option to have online education in lieu of snow days. "I've been for that all along," he said. - EW Paired Photo
