Halloween begins at 6pmCT, 31 October 2017 on LWC campus

Blue Raider Bob hangs out with "Wonder Woman", a "Soldier" and two "Power Rangers" during last year's Safe Halloween. Lindsey Wilson College's 24th-annual "Safe Halloween" will be from 6pm-9pmCT on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. The tour begins in the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center on the back side of the campus, entry at 299 Williams Street, Columbia, KY.

Overturned gas tanker cleanup at Knifley continues

The scene at mid morning, in 6600 area of Elkhorn Road/KY 76, west of Knifley, KY, between the Knifley Fire Department and Eastridge Cemetery Road, as HazMat workers, and first responders work to clear the site crash. Reports we are receiving is that the driver walked away from the crash and reported the single vehicle from a nearby house. Extent of his injuries, if any, have not been received. Cleanup and re-opening of KY 76, according to Mike Keltner, Adair County Emergency Director, at 9:59amCT, Wednesday morning, was expected to take several more hours. Mr. Keltner recommends drivers use alternate routes - Union Church Road and Robinson Ridge Road have been suggested - while cleanup is in progress.

Early daylight photo, overturned gas tanker, Knifley, KY

As daylight appeared this morning, Wednesday, October 24, 2017, the extensive damage to the overturned fuel tanker in the area of 6200 Elkhorn Road, Knifley was evident. This accident is expected to block the roadway between Knifley Fire Department and Eastridge Cemetery Road for several hours. Please use an alternate route. - Mike Keltner
