VFW Post 6097 Breakfast: Buck Perkins only WWII vet present 2017-11-11 - 500 Green Hills Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com. Warren "Buck" Perkins, 96, was the only World War II Veteran able to attend the Saturday morning breakfast at the new VFW center. He was awarded a gift quilt from the Country Quilters. Sharon Bledsoe, center, made the quilt, one of several to be given to Veterans, and she and Kathy Jones, left, made the presentation of the patriotic quilt. Mr. Perkins then called on Mackie Jo Pennington who works at Summit Manor and asked her to please take the gift quilt to his wife. Other WWII Veterans unable to attend will have their quilts delivered to them.
