Linda Fitzpatrick, Treasurer, at left, was given high praise for keeping the financial record straight. Ellen said, "if anybody anywhere needs a treasurer, Linda is the one." She also recognized Chamber Secretary Ann Martin who was unable to be present at the event. Sister Frances Reynolds is beloved by many and one of God's most faithful servants. She sets a shining example for all of us. She joined the Brethren In Christ Church in 1956 and transferred from Campbellsville BIC to Beulah Chapel BIC in 1980. It felt like heaven sent us an angel. Most--not all, but most--war-time rationing was a thing of the past, merchants could offer a wider array both of necessary and luxury items than they had since 1941, and pent up consumerism flexed it muscle. Shacklette Jewelers had recently opened in the New Adair Hotel, as had the Adair Fruit Market in the Lacy Building, Campbellsville Street, and come the 20th, Wooten's Restaurant would open to serve three meals a day.
