(Ad) Election 2018, Buddy Powell for Adair County Jailer

2017-12-22 - Columbia, KY - Photo Powell family photo.
To the Voters of Adair County, KY

Hi.

My name is Buddy Powell and I would like to introduce myself as a Republican candidate for Jailer in Adair County. My family and I have always called Adair County home.

My grandfather, Curtis Powell, served two terms as jailer. I am the son of Kay Powell and the late Tommy Powell. My brother, Terry, and I have both graduated from Adair County High School and I have lived and worked in this county most of my life.

My daughter, Brandi, and I are members of Bethany Baptist Church and I am currently employed by Farmer's Produce and A-1 Transportation, but the hardest job I have ever tackled is being a single parent raising my teenage daughter. Living in a community where we can feel safe is a priority to me and I can't imagine raising her anywhere else.

In October of 1994, I completed the Justice Cabinet Department of Corrections "Basic Academy Training" while employed at North Point Correctional Center in Burgin, Kentucky.

If elected, I intend to keep the rehab and ministry programs currently in place and to aggressively seek all government grants and funding.

I am not promising to save the world or to re-invent the wheel; my only promise is to be fair to all. Everyone will be treated fairly and with respect.

I humbly ask for your vote on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

Thank you,

Buddy Powell
