To the people of Adair County, KY I am Ken Hill, Candidate for the Office of Adair County PVA. I have been married to Vickie Hill for over 32 years. We live on a farm in the Glensfork area with our son, Jake. I served the citizens of Adair County as a member of the Kentucky State Police, retiring as a Detective Lieutenant. After retirement I continued serving as owner of the Hardscratch Country Store, which we saved from closure in 2005, and later as Executive Director of the Kentucky Board of Auctioneers, an independent state agency. I invite you to ask any of the 2000 Auction Licensees about the growth and improvement of that agency during my tenure. I believe that every government agency should strive to make fairness and customer service their top priorities. I am running a campaign for positive change, and with your help I WILL take the Office of PVA in a new direction. Does Dollar General Store at Phil count? 2018-01-07 - U.S. 127, E of Creston, W of Phil, N of Dunnville, S of Liberty . This photo was taken December 31, 2017, of one of the latest Anthony Janes-built Dollar General Stores, this on at in the western suburbs of Phil, Casey County, KY. Don't know if it counts in Ralph Roy's rules of Dollar General Stores between Columbia and Russell Springs, but it is if one takes a short cut through Liberty. Poet-Traveler-Philosopher Billy Joe Fudge said he has only recently noticed this store, and reminded us that before the DG's can ever supplant the country stores, they will have incorporate a pot-bellied stove and a Liar's Table. This glorious sunrise was quite a gift, added to ten degrees more warmth and freely flowing water -- it was 12 degrees in the 6amCT hour as opposed to two degrees yesterday when the pipes were frozen. Normally we travel to find beautiful pictures, however, this fine sunrise presented itself upon opening the blinds and an immediate picture was called for before it could change.
