We took the more travelled, easier way, the blacktopped byway, but the cascading falls of the little creek, whose name we did not find, had a stronger call. The stream flows into Shirley Branch. The choice may have made a difference, in the longer scheme of things, but we'll go back, soon, sometime after a 10 day drought. At four and twenty per, this cloud of blackbirds appears ample for at least two or three children's rhyme pies, were one able to capture and bake them into one, set it before a king, and watch the miracle of song erupt from the arisen birds. No attempt was made to maneuver a helicoptered net over this gathering, which paid nary a bit of attention.
