ACES 5th graders prepare 40 bags for homeless

Following the study of the Preamble, 5th grade students in Mrs. Angie Smith's Social Studies class at Adair County Elementary School decided to "promote the general welfare" by collecting items to fill bags for the homeless in our community:

There were a total of seven dogs in the ACHS Puppy Pit and the students who were asked said, yes, the opportunity to spend time with them really did lower the stress of exam time. The youngest puppy sits in the arms of Sydney Slaven, left, and both sat on the lap of Sydney Kimbler, center, who sat beside Anne Hopkins at right. - LW

Jenna Rodgers and Jake Brockman were two of the ACHS students who visited with pups at the Puppy Pit pre-exam stress reliever event Monday 19 March 2018. As students went back and forth to lunch, they were given time to pet, walk and romp with dogs. All the puppies brought to school for the day from the shelter are in need of homes. - LW
