First Wednesday reopening since the Pandemic
2025-03-13 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. It was Wednesday at dinnertime when the parking lot is usually empty, but not on March 12, 2025 - the first day OK Country Cooking was open on a Wednesday since the Pandemic. It had been a good first day back and there was still free pie for folks who drive miles and miles for homemade coconut, sand and butterscotch, chocolate and more! From left are: Addisyn Hatcher, Annette Young, Arlinda Kessler holding their famous Sand Pie, and Devon Lorenz. Find their specials in the 'What's Cooking' feature every day on Columbia Magazine.

Who will apply to be new District 2 Magistrate?
2025-03-12 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo from public framed map at Adair Clerk's office in the Courthouse Annex, 400 Public Square, Columbia.. Who lives in Adair County Magisterial District 2 (in brown and green above) and wants to apply for the open seat coming at the end of March? That's the question on the street today as the March 31, 2025 midnight deadline approaches. The job pays around $800 a month at the start plus mileage and expenses to training and informational trips. Insurance may also be a benefit.
