Our 6 month old female pup, white/cream/light blond, lab/retriever mix, blind in one eye, wearing a blue collar, 25#, disappeared Friday, April 6, 2018, from Toria Road, Sparksville area after a tree fell and smashed the fence. We just rescued this starving girl from the roadside a few months ago and she is very friendly. Wildflower Array: Late Woods Poppy like a Tulip 2018-04-10 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. There are just two Celandine or Woods Poppies in this picture. They seem to be late this year, by as much as Easter was early. At first the one dead center appeared to be an unopened tulip, but it was not. Last year, this location was bright with a hillside of peaking Celandine Poppies. This year, the peak is an anticipated, yet-to-come event here. As a bonus, though, the Robin's nest trillium, in the lower part of the photo, was so abundant that it seems as common as the violets now rife, everywhere. There are other plants we wish we could identify, and ought to be able to do so - so please help with any other forest floor item - we think there is an interesting fungus in the upper right, would be appreciated. - EW/LW. ACMS students work on project 'Growing a Garden of Art' 2018-04-09 - ACMS - Adair County Middle School - 322 Gen John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Candice Flatt, Gifted and Talented Teacher, ACHS. The VSA Kentucky Arts Inclusion Project helps fund artists and supplies for projects that teach students about art they've not been exposed to. The project uses stylized art to paint a mural on the Gifted and Talented Bus Ceiling. Some of the participating students in these pictures include Maison Karnes, Jacob Fugate, Chistian Marcial-Davis, Mrs. Pat Ritter -- Artist, Lucas Powell, Ashton Flatt, and Jalissa Clements. CAUD Wastewater plant gets 1,920 s.f. storage facility 2018-04-09 - CAUD Wastewater Treatment Facility Campus - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. With advice and guidance from Mike Newton, a CAUD Commissioner and Director of Plant Operations at Lindsey Wilson College, a 1,920 s.f. equipment storage facility was built on at the CAUD Wasterwater Treatment Facility off Campbellsville Street on the town side of the Russell Creek Bridge. The Building is 120' long and 16 feet deep, and utilized a poured concrete retaining wall to achieve an approximately $3.00 per s.f cost. That was for materials. The construction was an inhouse job for the utility.
