An optimistic outlook prevailed at the Columbia City Council last night, with smiles an ideas coming from all directions. Tiffany Kessler, left, gave a glowing report on prospects for business improvement picked up on the trip and at the Retail Academy session she attended recently. Road Naming systems are clues to county you are in 2018-04-03 - Gum Lick Road, North of Clementsville, Casey County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The designations may not be unique to Casey County, but it is prevalent there to see a county road, a "CR" as a "Conn Road." Of course, the swifter-witted among us immediately know that this is a real shortcut - a passable road usually a cross, a hill or through a ford or dry bridge. When confused about which of the CM-7 county area you are in, the occasion of "Conn" road signs indicating "Connector" roads makes it highly likely one is in Casey County, just as red bridges indicate Adair, and seeing many signs with "Bottoms," or "Landings" or "Ferry" raises the likelihood that one is in Russell or Cumberland County, though Adair County also has well known "Landings" roads, too.
