(Ad) - Election 2018 - R, Ken Hill for Adair Co. PVA - Issue 2
2018-04-19 - Glens Fork, Adair County, KY - Photo - Ken Hill, Campaign photo.
Issue 2 - No 'Double Dipping' for me!
To the people of Adair County, KY
I am Ken Hill, Republican Candidate for the Office of Adair County PVA (Property Valuation Administrator). I have been married to Vickie Hill for over 32 years. We live on a farm in the Glensfork area with our son, Jake. I attended Somerset Community College, and later graduated as President of my State Police Academy Class. I served the citizens of Adair County as a member of the Kentucky State Police for over 20 years, retiring as a Detective Lieutenant. After retirement I continued serving as owner of the Hardscratch Country Store, which we purchased and revived after it closed in 2005 (It's still open today!), and later as Executive Director of the Kentucky Board of Auctioneers, formerly an independent state licensing agency. I invite you to ask any of the 2000 Auction Licensees about the growth and improvement of that agency, which was nearly bankrupt when I took command. I believe that every government agency should strive to make fairness and customer service their top priorities. It doesn't cost a thing to be nice to everyone who comes through the door. I am running a campaign for positive change, and with your help I WILL take the Office of PVA in a new direction.
What I have to offer.
- I am the only candidate, from either party, who WILL NOT receive any retirement benefits from the Office. No "double dipping" for me, and no expense to the Retirement System.
- Extensive management experience in government and the private sector.
- Proven Leadership in many different fields.
- Trained and licensed as a real estate agent and auctioneer with a good working knowledge of property values.
- A Fair assessment of property, whether you own one acre or a thousand.
- A professional office based on customer service.
I am not accepting any campaign donations, so everyone who walks through the door of the office will be on equal
footing.
- Experience counts, regardless of the job at hand. I will bring a lifetime of experience to the office, along with a
common-sense approach to all problems and issues that affect you.
If you like what I have to offer, please follow us on Facebook at Ken Hill for PVA. I stand ready to answer any questions you may have. You can also reach me anytime at (270) 378-1108. If you elect me to the Office, you can continue using that number to reach me directly with any problems or questions you may have. Thank you for your kindness and prayers throughout this campaign, and
I humbly ask for your vote and support on May 22nd...
Thank you. - Ken Hill
Paid for by the candidate, Ken Hill

Main Street, Campbellsville, KY 1962
2018-04-18 - Main Street, Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY - looking west - Photo from the collection of Larry Smith, South Central Kentucky Historian. A gorgeous scene of old cars and a street fair in Campbellsville, KY, with, what the late Dr. Steve Aaron liked to call a "Thermos Wheel," set up smack dab in the middle of the street. Look closely, you may see your car or the ride of someone you own. Pretty as the street was then, a majority would probably prefer Campbellsville's Downtown of Today. Our main street is one of the few in the country which is prettier than it was in those days. - LARRY SMITH, General Manager, the Big Dawg, 99.9 FM.
