Helicopter hovers over ACHS during safety training session

At times they were more hovering around Adair County High and the football field, for the Drive Smart. A training exercise, Operation 10-46 (emergency ten-code for accident with injury) was held to give students an up-close look at the devastation that can happen from a single split-second wrong choice. The presentation was made in the run-up to Prom Night, which will be Saturday night, April 21, 2018.

Scenic Adair County, KY - Flower in a knothole planter

Haven't yet found the name of this plant (and help with an ID will be appreciated), but it seems to be thriving in its knothole planter, almost certain it is the work of the Master Designer, but if it were created by humans, it would seem to belong in one of the Japanese schools of design. It combines a beautiful plant, some moss, and brick-patterned bark in pleasing presentation. - EW

Why is it? Best fishing is just on the other side of obstruction?

The best fishing is usually just on the other side of some obstruction, such as the fallen tree here on Lake Cumberland, probably at the Clifty Creek inlet, which prevented boat traffic into the inlet.
