Wildflowers of KY: A Master's Roadside Bouquet

One of my favorite flowers, the bluish lavender Wild Sweet William, first caught my eye. Then I was drawn to the wonderful little white flower, ten narrow petals around a lemon yellow center. I'll be searching for its name and welcome knowledge of readers who probably already know. - LW

Wildflowers of KY - Yellow Trillum, Russell County, KY

Yellow Trillium is relatively common in Kentucky, but when the CM database was searched, it appears the flower is new to the site. These five plants one in one of several patches near Lake Cumberland. The photo was taken Sat 21 Apr 2018, just a few days before peak color. - EW

Dogwood Season, Russell Co., KY 2018 - A Saturday afternoon encounter

Russell County's Dogwoods are in bloom, at the same time as redbuds are peaking. Linda photographed this branch from the edge of Dunbar Cemetery. We're hoping for a reader submission which will show Dogwood and Redbud together. A dark black green Eastern Red Cedar backdrop would make an excellent canvas. - EW

United States Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III

The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III "is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas....
