Fifteen mule and horse teams turned some soil Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Homeplace on Green River festival. They were watched by a record crowd of about 2500 folks from Indiana, Tennessee and of course from throughout Kentucky. The weather was perfect and there were hundreds of children enjoying the many activities. - George Kolbenschlag

Tractor-bearing Garrison Construction semi a reminder of founder

"The tractor showing was in memory of the late Lewis Garrison, owner of Garrison Construction and avid antique tractor collector," George Kolbenschag writes. The big semi is now a familiar sight in parades and elicits memories of the impresario who built his tractor show into a major event at Clay Ridge, Adair County, KY.

Tractors return to Plow Day 21 Apr 2018

Thanks to the work of Wayne Livesay and Eddie Cowherd, with help from the family of the late Lewis Garrison, the tractor show was revived for Plow Day 2018 - believed to have drawn the largest attendance of any event, ever, at Homeplace on Green River.

HGR Plow Day 21 April 2018: Music at Shakespeare in the Barn

Shakespeare in the Barn is proving to be a highly successful venue at Homeplace, "The live music all day long at the festival drew most of the festival crowd at one time or another. The newly renovated barn was crowded throughout the festival and at times there was standing room only," George Kolbenschlag writes following Plow Day, April 21, 2018, at what is believed to have been a record-breaking, highest attendance ever, at Homeplace on Green River.

ACHS young drivers see Operation 10-46 up close

Joshua Smith was one of the Adair County High School staff members participating in the Friday, April 20, 2018 Operation 10-46 safety drill. He helped guide students to the football field area where the staging of the massive accident scene would take place, and then walk back to the gym for talks about staying safe on the road.
