A limited engagement

2018-04-30 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen.
For 362 days out of every year, this tree is an unassuming, slightly scruffy-looking crabapple. But for 3 days, at most, and if the weather is right, it is a symphony of color and texture.

Historic Adair Co. Courthouse: Natural light show, faces in the stone

2018-04-30 - Front door, Jamestown Street face, Historic Adair County Courthouse lawn, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
The backlighted red leaves were eye catching, and maybe a bit more so in before circling the Square to catch the moment. When the picture was edited, it had a very clear photo of the face in the stone atop the column. We're searching for a story about the faces - almost certain there's a link. We did find this link to paired photo(s): http://www.columbiamagazine.com/photoarchive.php?photo_id=49628. What wasn't found was a more detailed bio of the man and wife whose faces are carved there. - EW. Photo Sun 29 Apr 2018.

Lost dog found at Columbia Post office: Buddy caper # ???

2018-04-29 - Columbia, KY Post Office, 800 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Chelsea DeWitt.
Hello, I found this dog at the Columbia post office and I was wondering if you could share his photograph to help try and find his owners. He had a broken chain attached to his collar. Thank you! Chelsea Dewitt Cdewitt0011@kctcs.edu. 270-507-8972.
Thanks Chelsea for looking out for Buddy - unless Buddy has a clone, who, wittingly or unwittlng, has gained notoriety with his repeated capers. He belongs next door to the post office, but he has a get-and-see-world curiosity, and is a self-appointed greeter at the post office. He rarely will actually leave the premises when he appears to be hitchhiking - he must have really trusted you. If he is Buddy, he belongs to Houston Murray next door who says anytime Buddy is let out, he takes off the the post office. Maybe inquire in the post office, they are very familiar with him. - EW
