He belongs next door to the post office, but he has a get-and-see-world curiosity, and is a self-appointed greeter at the post office. He rarely will actually leave the premises when he appears to be hitchhiking - he must have really trusted you. If he is Buddy, he belongs to Houston Murray next door who says anytime Buddy is let out, he takes off the the post office.
