With or without the delightful Eastern Red Cedars which once lined the farthest reaches of this scene - which we prefer - Snake Creek Road's geometry, its acquiescence to play-it-as-it-lays engineering and name-befitting sidewindering is a gorgeous Adair County scene. This photo is about this season's most marvelous plant, wild honeysuckle, the plant which seems to roll down the roadways like tumbleweed to find new places to adorn mail boxes and signs like this one, or, in more basic mode, just to cover up and obscure ugly. Anyone heartened by honeysuckle should use part of the next 72 hours driving the byways of Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe and Russell Counties for great picture-taking and documentation of honeysuckle's aesthetic contributions. Lifetime hunt for world's unique 5-strand barbwire fencepost completed in Adair Co. KY. 2018-05-24 - Christine, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. This one has to go in the World Record Book of Guinnesses. Linda's little Honda almost auto-braked when this fencepost was spotted, not far from Blooming Chapel Brethren in Christ Church. It is so awe-inspiring we won't try to explain how it came to be - will just say that even though it is a bucket list achievement, it is not a life shortening one - rather it is encouragement for anyone in their withering, out-of-warranty years, that parts may fail but the whole endures.
