1st Mowing Time - on CR 1486 - Adair County, KY 7 Jun 2018

2018-06-10 - Ray Coffey Road, CR 1486 - Off Milltown Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
The entrance to Ray Coffey Road/CR 1486, is like the entrance to a secret garden. This hayfield from the first mowing of the season was redolent with the smell of the newly mowed hay, rivaling that of honeysuckle and locust blossoms. Then entrance to the County Maintained road leads to other byways, all of which dead end. - EW

Birds of KY: Encore photo of Robin of City Hall singing encore

2018-06-09 - Reed Street side of City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
You've probably stayed awake a many a night wondering how many times a day a robin sings its many songs. I know I have. But my mind is at ease knowing that more scientific folks are already working on it. Probably you'll be surprised at the number of performances they do each day. Take a guess, then take a look at this sight: www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/robin/VocalizationSongStudy.html. Hope someone will collect data on Robin of City Hall - may it could get us into the World Record Book of Guinnesses, when the Jaycee Chili Bowl couldn't. - EW
