Pampered Angus has a new family member On Friday, June 15, 2018, at 2:15pm the Pampered Angus Ranch added a new family member. No name, yet, but we are working on that. This fine looking gentlemen is from Oak Hollow Angus Smiths Grove, KY, owned by Ken Lowe and family. He looks right handsome, with Miss Shannon’s Quick Lube in the background in New Columbia while he stands in the farming community of Greater Bliss. Sure is a hot one, here today, but I remember some mighty cold days we dreamed of hot weather like this. Happy Saturday from the girls. - Miss Vicky

Advice to young entrepreneurs: perseverance is the key

In comments before the plant tour, company founder, President and CEO Randy Hart said, "if young entrepreneurs wanted one word to guide them, it's perseverance. That's the main thing in getting a company going." Hart talked about his job as a tool and dye man 35 years ago, thinking about the possibility of making batteries and how he cut one open and how that worked out for him. He decided he could make one. The plant today is one of the top five largest battery manufacturers and the youngest in the USA, on a fast growth track. It provides 163 jobs in Russell County.

Banner welcomes visitors to Superior Battery University

Superior Battery hosted members of the Russell County Chamber of Commerce for its June meeting. Lunch, catered by Sonny's BBQ of Somerset, was served in the "Superior Battery University" room where "intense day and a half training sessions" take place regularly for employees and for all customers who wish to take advantage of it.
