The Norris sisters are the daughters of Mike & Sherri Norris of Breeding, KY. Both are students at Cumberland County High School in Burkesville, KY. They were among only 100 winners statewide in TSC's 2018 'Great Neighbor' Essay Contest. The essays detailed how a memorable 4-H or FFA experience had influenced their development as a great neighbor in their community. Wildflowers of KY: Increasingly rare roadway trumpet vine 2018-06-12 - Along Leatherwood Church Road/CR #1318, Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Trumpet vines are beautiful, but need discipline. Less than four years ago, they brightened byways in Adair County, and were provided restraint by passing vehicles and relatively gentle mowing on the roadway, and by cultivation of row crops and pastures on farmers' sides of fences. Cultivated with extreme control, the plants provide beauty in a way few others can. Strange tree shapes preserved on Wheat Road/CR #1161 2018-06-12 - Along Wheat Road, East Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. More than one unique trees are preserved alongside Wheat Road/Adair County Road #1161, a .896 mile shortcut from Sano Road to Russell Springs Highway which is loaded with delightful scenery, courtesy of land owners who take extreme pride in their gardens and property. The tree in the center is the focal point. It's hard to figure out whether the unique elbow is a long legged giant's seat, a place to hang a swing, or just trained that way to perplex people.
