Wildflowers of KY: Elderberry got bugs; unsafe here for humans

2018-06-13 - Along an Adair County Byway - Kentucky - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. There was a time when it was safe for Elderberry fanciers to spot plants at this time of year by Adair County Roadsides and bank in their memory for harvest time gleaning for jams and jellies and elderberry wine. Not now. Not after over years of roadside poisoning. No way to alert these pollinators, but there is time to listen to the Cassandras who told us so. - EW
