Cows aren't the only milk producers
2025-06-05 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Donna Rieder. Donna writes, "June is Dairy Month! I just wanted to remind people that it's not just cows that produce milk! The half-inch of sweet cream sitting on top of this goat milk (pictured at left) will be whipped, then put on top of the blueberries and strawberries I picked from my garden this morning (pictured at right). It'll be a cool treat after a day on the lawnmower!

Gov. Beshear speaks at Fallen Officers Ceremony
2025-06-05 - Richmond, KY - Photo courtesy Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet. On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Gov. "When we add a name to the law enforcement memorial, it's more than an act of duty; it's a promise from a grateful commonwealth that these officers who died protecting our safety will never to be forgotten," Gov. Beshear said. "The memory of those we honor today, as well as the additional 589 officers listed on the monument, inspires us to be better, to do more and to strive to live up to the incredibly high standards of service and sacrifice they set."

Travel: Cedar Breaks National Monument, 1 of 2
2025-06-05 - Brian Head, UT - Photo by Robert Ellis, robertelliswoodworking.com. Robert writes, "This beautiful National Monument is one of those gems that is often overlooked since its neighboring Bryce Canyon draws all the attention and large crowds. It is only about an hour away from Bryce.
It is much like Bryce Canyon, but at a much smaller scale. It is still very picturesque, with very few crowds (we were the only ones that day). It has a new Visitors' Center, with some hikes around the rim, and awesome views that make it a worthwhile stop. Due to its 10,000 foot elevation and winter snow pack, the main entrance road is open to car traffic only from late-May through mid-October. The day of our visit it was windy and around 34 degrees; the idea of any type of hiking was quickly put to rest."
