Happy little lantanas brighten Main Street, Russell Springs, KY
2018-08-24 - Russell Springs, Russell County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com, KY. Lantanas, the bushy type, are growing nicely in flower pots on Main Street in downtown Russell Springs. They thrive and bloom year-round south of us, in areas where the temperature does not drop below freezing. Here, however, they die back in winter months. For summer 2018, they are a good contribution to colorful street and yard plantings. - LW

New Columbia, KY - Where Historic Will Walker House was
2018-08-24 - Will Walker Drive, New Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Three days after the Paired Photo was taken, the historic Will Walker was a memory, at this stage monumentally remembered by twin (oaks?) which served a backdrop. Photo Thursday, just after noon, August 23, 2018. The pace of change in the development given a name which stuck, "New Columbia," by Pyles Excavating CEO Danny Pyles, is now becoming a business powerhouse at a blinding pace. New Columbia is, in a large way, a monument to "Mr. Will," who foresaw the potential for it becoming what it is today. Paired photo. See: Historic Will Walker House, New Columbia - 20 Aug 2018
